Forecasting Weather and Fujifilm Instax

In this episode Jack and John talk about the importance of following the weather and learning how to predict the conditions for more productive photography while on location.  Using apps and websites, if you know the weather predicted and how it may change during the day/week, you can better pick the right locations and subjects for the available light. Predicting the weather, along with knowing the different stages of sunrise and sunset, means that you can be in the right position at the right time

Plus, we have an exciting interview with a Fujifilm Instax camera user who talks about why she loves her Instax. The Instax line is a huge seller for Fujifilm and is bringing back the joy of prints and sharing with friends.  Remember the old Polarioids and sharing those pictures?  Well, the Instax is bringing this joy to new generations!

Interview with Stacey Moore from Fujifilm North America Corporation

This episode features a special interview with Stacey Moore, the Field Marketing Manager at FUJIFILM North American Corporation, based in Atlanta GA.  Stacey likes to say that she is a “bridge from the technical to the usable” as she is one of the key interfaces between the engineers and the creative users of Fujifilm imaging products.  Stacey recently celebrated 25 years with the company!  Though she’s had many different positions in different divisions of Fujifilm, her current role in EID (Electronic Imaging Division), is presently her favorite because she is helping to remove obstacles in the creative process.

Jack and John dive into many topics with Stacey about the Fujifilm philosophy and how they are committed to the customer using a human touch, Fujifilms Kaizen approach to releasing firmware updates to improve and prolong the usefulness of each camera and lens and they discuss some exciting new product releases coming up.  Spend an entertaining hour with the gang to learn more about Fujifilm and why they are so successful and committed to their customers with some of the best products available.

Post Processing Workflow

In this episode John and Jack respond to some listener feedback to dive deeper in to the topic of workflow. Specifically, they walk through their post-processing workflow and how they work through the order of when to do what when processing an image. As they discuss, how an image is processed is unique to each photographer and it is an area where each persons artistic vision can shine.  The information they share is specific to them, merely shared as a discussion point, not as a fact or “the” way to process an image.  There are many great software tools out there and so many different ways to achieve quality results……what matters in the end is how the image looks, not how you got there.

Interview with Mark Lewis from Prograde Digital

Jack and John interview Mark Lewis from the ProGrade Digital Inc. Prograde specializes in professional quality memory cards and workflow accessories for photography and video. Mark has been in marketing for over 20 years and part of that time was spent at SanDisk where he built the consumer marketing organization when it was an OEM-focused company and then most recently he was at Lexar running marketing for that organization.

The idea for ProGrade Digital started back in 2017 when the market for NAND flash started to tighten and manufacturers shifted focus from the removable storage market in favor of their enterprise business.  A core team of people from Lexar, that also built the business at SanDisk, decided to take their passion for this market and focus on the professional end of the market. – thus the name, ProGrade Digital. Listen in as Mark talks about the history, technology and future of ProGrade Digital and how it could benefit your photography or video projects.
